![]() ![]() Kills anything NAD or Cambridge Audio have for the same coin. Still the best sub $1000 cd player though in my opinion. The Cayin CDT-50 has timing issues, poor bass handling, and no sacd playback. The Nu-Force is simply too mechanical and poorly built to ever grace my hi-fi rack (As a movie player though any Oppo is a superb bit of kit and awesome value). Sound wise I have had the CD-S2000 side by side with: On build quality alone it destroys any player Oppo make and makes the Marantz Pearl Lite seem flimsy and insubstantial. If you can live with it not having a supposed "audiophile brand name" and can accept that British hi-fi magazine s rarely get it right - then this is probably the best value CD/SACD player in the game. I was willing to spend $10k on a SACD player and I ended up buying the Yamaha. Redbook playback is excellent and DSD recorded SACD is even better. it will never be the limiting factor in any system using the CD-S2000. I have owned a Yamaha CD-S2000 for around a year.īulid quality is absolutely top notch regardless of price.
